Russia Invading Georgia, Can You Find A Better Reason, To Be Energy Independent?

It is now a matter of national security.

We have been advising, cajoling and telling you government leaders for months of the necessity for drilling oil, and not only oil, but also any of our natural energy resources, and still you refuse to hear. What will it take to consider our looming energy crisis seriously? Must a Russian love letter land on our doorstep before you get your heads out of the sand? How about the destruction of foreign oil fields, will this motivate you?   You must realize the situation we currently find ourselves in this world. We have drug gangland wars on our southern border. Islamic Extremist Terrorism haunts us at every turn. Iran still cannot be trusted, though having supposedly reversed it’s stance on destroying Israel and The USA. I believe they are saying one thing and plotting our demise at the same time. I never trusted Mr. Putin. John McCain was correct when he said he saw KGB in Putin's eyes. North Korea and China still require watching. I have learned that past actions are a great forecaster of future actions and believe me none of those nations has an overwhelmingly benign record. Now I do not want to hear from you left-wing loons about the USA's real, perceived or imagined sins at this time or how God should punish us for these sins. I am frankly tired of hearing it. Never the less, I will undoubtedly hear from you and we will, of course lock horns. I will however acknowledge, we helped create this monster by helping Russia develop their oil production and now they have turned on us. Now, do not think for a minute Russia did not plan to invade Georgia or that the Georgian Government is not blameless.   If Georgia has acted criminally towards South Osetia, then of course Georgia must be held accountable how, I would assume will be a matter left to the investigation and trials by the International Court, until that time Russia must cease fire and withdraw from Georgia. As far as the US is concerned our energy policy must be fast-tracked immediately, there must be no further delay. Before this newest setback, I would have suggested we wait until the Oil Moratorium expires in October, but now we have new concerns.   It is no longer just a matter of oil drilling and environmental concerns.   It is a matter of autonomy.   No government or cause Celebes should hamstring a nation's economy and energy policy for the sake of computer models created by folks who have no business in the energy business.

Letter to Representative, Robert E. Andrews, (D-NJ 1st)

Dear Congressman, Robert E. Andrews,

I am asking you to reconsider your opposition to offshore oil drilling and its potential impact to the economy, our nation's security and autonomy as a sovereign nation.

I support offshore drilling off the coast of New Jersey for the following reasons.

1.   Oil Drilling relieves the surplus oil pressure under the ocean floor thereby alleviating natural oil seepage through cracks and crevices. Unchecked natural seepage of petroleum oil causes contamination of water and beaches and if it remains unchecked will equal the Exxon Valdez oil spill in a few years.

2.   Oil rigs encourage the flourishing of marine life by providing a manufactured reef that attracts said marine life.

3.   Marine Biologists and other Environmental Scientists work closely with oil companies to maintain a balanced, safe, and marine friendly environment.

4.   Oil rigs are usually located many miles from the shoreline and therefore have little effect on the appearance of the shoreline or its impact on the tourism industry.

4A. China is drilling some 50 or 60 miles from our coast for Cuba no less. Why therefore, are we not permitted?

5.    There are over 4000 products made from, with or containing petroleum, distillates and by products. Not only gasoline and diesel are effected but anything that has a combustible engine such as ships including fishing vessels, people and cargo air and water transports, pharmaceuticals, plastics and building supplies, cleaning products etc and don't forget the people who use oil for home heating in the winter who cannot afford to retrofit their houses for natural gas or other alternative fuels.

6.   Your constituents who need oil to heat their homes.

7.   It will not take 10 years to make an impact on the oil supply. Some estimates say as little as 3 years and if we start now it may take even less.

8. Bill Clinton gave the same 10-year excuse for not drilling and we could have had oil by now.

9. The Republicans and Bush administration had almost 8 years to increase oil production and did nothing.

10. The Republicans are seeing the errors of their ways and attempting to correct the situation but they need your help.

11. Oil is a national security issue due to its effect on our economy.

12. We need to be energy independent from foreign oil especially from unfriendly nations.

13. Global warming is a theory only it depends on computer models and not hard exact science of which there is so little.

14. Until we can develop better more efficient, cleaner, safer energy alternatives, we need to use the natural resources God Gave Us.

15. Plants and Trees love carbon dioxide experiments have shown plants grow larger and healthier in an environment rich in carbon dioxide.

16. Encourage oil-profits to be used for development and successful implementation of green energies.

17. Oil companies and other existing energy companies know far more than we do about how to produce energy. Would you go to your barber to clean and repair your teeth?

18. If our economy goes down the tube, so do any means of supporting ourselves or providing for charitable causes.

19. Nancy Pelosi appears to be running for dictator of the US.

20. The people demand it and the country needs it.

Thank You for Your Kind Consideration to This Matter.

Sincerely,

Mrs. LMH

Congress Apologizes for Slavery

Folks,

Today we have reached a new milestone or millstone if one is a bit cynical like me, It would appear after some 232 years of Independence Declaring, Congress has now decided to issue an apology for the practicing of slavery and Jim crow segregation against African Americans.

http://www.npr.org/ templates/story/story.php?
storyId=93059465&ft=1&f=1070#share

I have very mixed emotions about this.   Perhaps if I were of another mind or I held a Liberal view as was my want in life some 30 years ago, I should be overjoyed by this awe inspiring news, virtually tripping afleet of foot down the golden pathways of hysterical happiness.  However a new bear has been seen growling through the woods these days and this bear has many questions.

There have been apologies aplenty concerning man's inhumanity to man.   My Question: why now congress, why after 232 years or so,  have you decided to issue an apology at this time.  Of course I am not saying an apology is wrong and that such an apology should have been made some some 200 years ago and it was not.  I am merely questioning the timeliness of such a resolution.

My opinion:  No man, woman, or child should ever be enslaved by another, for all men are created equal in the eyes of God and have rights in and under the law.

To enslave another human being is to deny that person as human and insuch causing that person to be regarded and treated as an inferior being equivelent to being an animal, thus harming that person.  Therefore, slavery is a sin against God who gave us human rights in the first place and against each other.

My concern is now that the apology has been given, will we all be able to live in peace?  Will we feel free to discuss our differences reasonably?  Will we develop ways of accepting each other because of our differences, physical, mental, religious or otherwise?  Can we help erradicated slavery in other parts of the world by working with other peoples so they don't make the same mistakes of the past or is history doomed to repeat itself?   Will Black Americans, Native Americans and other people of color hold those people not of their race accountable for the people who lived here before.  Please remember not all people of color living today in the US had ancestors who were enslaved in the US.  Some people came to the US by their own free will from countries who may or may not have enslaved them.  Some people had ancestors who were considered freemen and thus not enslaved.  Not all people enslaved others.    Even today there are exceptions to any generalization.  We could have opinions about non-documented aliens vs documented aliens and naturalized citizens of all colors.  We can discuss the horrible practice of children and woman forced into labor or sex slavery or even white slavery.  Again let me be clear, slavery is absolutely an abomination.

My other concern:  Are we to be reminded constantly of the failings of the forebearers of this Country even though many of our ancestors were not involved in this period of time, or is it the old sins of the fathers thing, these not being our fathers.  Will we need to pay reparations for the rest of our lives and our descendents?

My Prayer: Dear Lord Teach Us to Love One Another as You Have Loved Us.

What say you folks?  How do you feel about today's latest resolution.

Thank You,

Mrs LMH

Porker of the Month:  Rep. John Mica

Citizens Against Government Waste (CAGW) has named Rep. John Mica (R-Fla.) Porker of the Month for his opposition to an earmark ban and defense of earmarks.  According to the Orlando Sentinel, on July 8, Rep. Mica said, “There’s no way in hell I would support banning earmarks…That’s our job, getting elected and making decisions.  Yes, there are bad earmarks, like there are bad members of Congress.  And what you do is get rid of them.”  Earmarking is not Congress’ “job,” as Rep. Mica claims.  Before the 1980s, Congress would fund general grant programs and let federal and state agencies select individual recipients through a competitive process or formula.  The House and Senate Appropriations Committees named specific projects only when they had been the subject of hearings and approved by authorizing committees.  Members of Congress with local concerns would lobby the president and federal agencies for consideration.  The normal budget process, which is aimed at preventing abuse and allocating resources on the basis of merit and need, has become a sideshow in the scramble by individual Appropriations Committee members to pick winners and losers based on seniority.  For opposing an earmark ban or moratorium and defending the out-of-control earmarking process, CAGW names Rep. John Mica its July 2008 Porker of the Month.  Read more about the Porker of the Month.

CCAGW Slams “Coburn Omnibus” as Harry Reid's Sour Grapes

The Council for Citizens Against Government Waste (CCAGW) has urged the Senate to vote against cloture on the Advance America’s Priorities Act, also known as the “Coburn Omnibus,” unless the spending in the bill is offset by spending cuts elsewhere.  Sen. Tom Coburn (R-Okla.) has placed a legislative “hold” on more than 80 bills since January 2007 to force Congress to debate their merits and costs before subjecting taxpayers to billions of dollars in new spending.  To circumvent the logjam, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) has rolled 35 of the bills into one omnibus package costing more than $10 billion.  In a letter to the Senate last week, CCAGW President Tom Schatz wrote, “The magnitude of Congress’ spending problem cannot be overstated.  In the first nine months of fiscal year 2008, the budget deficit was $148 billion higher than in the previous year…This action is another attempt to rubber stamp more government spending…the Senate must carefully examine all the bills and decide whether the programs in question duplicate already existing programs, whether they actually benefit the intended recipients, and whether they are worth spending valuable tax dollars on.”  Read more about the “Coburn Omnibus.”

CCAGW Denounces Housing Bailout Bill

CCAGW this month strongly denounced the Bush Administration’s cave-in on H.R. 3221, The American Housing and Foreclosure Prevention Act, which the president is expected to sign into law this week.  “The Bush Administration’s reversal on its veto threat on H.R. 3221 virtually ensures that taxpayers will be saddled with the huge costs associated with this bill for decades to come.  There are so many bad aspects to this bill, it is almost impossible to know where to begin,” said CCAGW President Tom Schatz.  The bill, which was already expected to cost $300 billion, was changed  to include a rescue plan for the nation’s two housing government-sponsored enterprises (GSEs), Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, after they suffered an alarming stock slide on July 11.  The GSE rescue plan, which is expected to cost $25 billion, places taxpayers squarely and explicitly behind the GSEs, but fails to address their critical long-term structural problems or lay claim to any future GSE profits on behalf of taxpayers.  In addition, House Democrats resurrected a controversial $3.9 billion grant program that had been removed from the bill earlier due to opposition from President Bush.  The grant program, designed to assist states and localities in purchasing foreclosed properties, will be just another slush fund for pork-barreling politicians.  Read more about the housing bailout bill.

CAGW Observes Cost of Government Day, 2008

CAGW observed Cost of Government Day on July 16 by expressing outrage at the federal, state, and local governments’ continued waste of hundreds of billions of tax dollars on outdated, ineffective, duplicative, and non-essential programs and agencies.  Cost of Government Day is the date on which the average American worker has earned enough to pay off his or her share of the tax and regulatory burdens imposed by all levels of government, according to the Americans for Tax Reform Foundation.  “Today taxpayers have been released from state servitude and can begin to provide for themselves and their families,” CAGW President Tom Schatz announced.  Americans now work more than half of the year - 197 days - to pay their share of the cost of government, with 84 of those days due to federal spending alone.  This year, the average American needed to work an additional 16 days to pay off his or her cost of government compared to 2000 and four days more than last year.  Read more about Cost of Government Day, 2008.

CAGW Opposes FCC-Imposed Net Neutrality

CAGW this month expressed opposition to news that the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is considering levying sanctions against the Comcast Corporation for blocking some Internet traffic.  “What the FCC is contemplating amounts to imposing network neutrality,” protested CAGW President Tom Schatz.  Proposals for so-called “net neutrality” would have the federal government mandate that Internet service providers allow all traffic to flow, regardless of cost or need.  Any government interference with or regulation of the Internet will require the requisite bureaucracy to manage, and the cost will be foisted onto taxpayers.  Once a bureaucracy is created, it naturally expands, not contracts.  Consumers have more Internet choices than ever before.  Cable, satellite, and wireless broadband providers are competing head-to-head for customers and providing better services at lower prices.  Coerced net neutrality would suppress such innovation.  Pricing and web content are both means of competition.  Without a plethora of consumer options, monopolies will arise and push out smaller companies.  Read more about net neutrality.

McCain Camp on B.O.'s Cancelled Troop Visit

Hi Folks,

Just thought I would share a little e-mail, I received today.
Subject:
MCCAIN CAMPAIGN ON BARACK OBAMA'S CANCELLED TROOP VISITS
Date:
Saturday, July 26, 2008 7:50:21 PM

MCCAIN CAMPAIGN ON BARACK OBAMA'S CANCELLED TROOP VISITS

For Immediate Release

Contact: Press Office

Saturday, July 26, 2008

703-650-5550

ARLINGTON, VA -- Today, retired Lt. Colonel Joe Repya issued the following statement on Barack Obama's cancelled visit to Ramstein and Landstuhl:

"The most solemn duty of a commander in chief is to fulfill his responsibility to the men and women who serve this country in uniform. Barack Obama had scheduled a visit with wounded American troops who have served with honor and distinction in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, but he broke that commitment, instead flitting from one European capital to the next. Several explanations were offered, none was convincing and each was at odds with the statements of American military leaders in Germany and Washington. For a young man so apt at playing president, Barack Obama badly misjudged the important demands of the office he seeks. Visits with world leaders and speeches to cheering Europeans shouldn't be a substitute for comforting injured American heroes."

Army Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) Joe Repya served 30 years of duty and three wars, Vietnam, Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was born in 1946 in Gary, Indiana. He was the oldest son of a disabled combat wounded veteran of the European Campaign of World War II. Awarded an ROTC scholarship he attended Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo, MI, graduating in 1969. Upon graduation he was appointed to the Regular Army as a Second Lieutenant in the Infantry. His 30 years of service in the US Army (12 years Active and 18 years in the National Guard & Reserves) lasted from 1969 until 2006. He served as a Combat Infantry Rifle Platoon Leader in Viet Nam in 1970/71 with the 2nd Battalion, 506th Infantry Regiment (Band of Brothers "Currahee's"), and an Aero Rifle Platoon Leader with A Troop, 2nd Squadron, 17th Cavalry Regiment. In Desert Storm 1990/91, he served as a Combat Helicopter Pilot and Staff Officer with the 4th Brigade (Aviation), 1st Infantry Division (The Big Red One). He initially retired in 1998.

After the terrorist attack of September 11, 2001, he was one of 12,000 US Army retirees who volunteered for Retiree Recall to Active US Army duty for Operation Iraqi Freedom. LTC Repya was selected as one of only 350 retirees who were returned to active duty status. At 58 years old on October 1, 2004 he returned as an Aviation Branch Officer for two more additional years of active duty service with the 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell, KY. He served for nine months as the G-3 Air for the Division. In 2005 he served as the Senior Liaison Officer for the 101st Airborne Division with the Multi National Corps Headquarters at Camp Victory, Baghdad, Iraq. He reentered retired status at the end of September 2006 at the age of 60.

Let The People Decide!

Folks,

Please forgive me but, I need to pick your brains yet again.

Please read and give me all and any advice and information regarding and pertaining to the feasibilty of said proposal listed below.  In other words I don't even know if this is permitted or attainable.  I depend on your wisdom.  I know little of law or industry but if there is the slightest chance of a possibilty, then by golly should we not take the bull by the horns or oil rigg and run with it.

We all realize Energy Independence affects our National Security, Autonomy, Economy, and overall viability as a nation.  Please read and get back to me.

Dear Congress,

If The United States of America is truly a land of The People, By The People and for The People.  Then by all that is good let the people decide the Energy Policy whether to drill, produce and refine oil, build more refinaries, mine, produce and liquify coal, pipe natural gas, build nuclear plants, import sugar cane based ethanol from Brazil and whatever else is needed to bring our Energy Resources into the 21st century.

We propose a Natural Energy Resources Initiative placed on the November 2008 General, Presidential, Congressional Election, Ballot to be worded as such:

We The People, authorize the President of The United States and The United States Congress to lift all bans and moritoriums relating to any and all drilling, and mining, production, and refining of any and all Natural Carbon based and or Fossil Fuels not limited and including all Nuclear, Solar, Wind, and other Technologies and the support and development of all and any said technologies.  Exploration and drilling shall be granted in the following regions: In the ocean off all coastal regions of the U. S., in ANWR in the area 1.5 million acres originally, designated and set aside for said purpose by Congress in 1980 and in any land area deemed neccessary, by any state containing said resources.

Permission will also be granted for any and all exploration, development and building of refinaries, Nuclear facilities, energy plants and facilities, oil drilling, mining, production, refinining, processing, storing, and all actvities associated with energy exploration, drilling, mining, production, processing, refining, distribution, and sale of  any and all said products.

The American people authorize this proposal and request immediate action depending on outcome of voting.

Democrats Won't Allow Votes to Help Lower Gas Prices

Dear Friend:

I wanted to send you a quick email about the latest outrageous action by Nancy Pelosi and the Democrat leadership in Congress.

When Americans are canceling vacations because gasoline is over $4.00 per gallon, Democrats plan to adjourn work for a month-long vacation the first of August WITHOUT holding a vote to drill for American oil.

This is inexcusable.

I know you’ll agree with me that there should be no recess without voting on legislation that can help lower gas prices.

No wonder the
new Gallup Poll yesterday that shows Congress’s approval rating has slipped to an all-time low of 14%. It’s not hard to figure out why.

The Democrat Majority in Congress is putting their extremist ideology ahead of common-sense solutions to bring down the price of gas and reduce our dependence on foreign energy sources in unstable regimes.

If you are as outraged as I am, I need you to do 2 things:

  1. Send a strong message to Pelosi and the Democrat majority to vote now. Sign our online petition demanding Congress take immediate action to lower gas prices before taking their vacation. You can sign the petition by clicking on the following link --
    http://www.nrcc.org/actioncenter/default.asp?ID=288

  2. Help us spread the word by forwarding this email to your email list!

I hope you join our efforts to force the Democrat leadership to vote and lower gas prices today!

Sincerely,

Tom Cole, MC
Chairman

P.S. Nancy Pelosi plans to begin her month long vacation in two short weeks so please make sure to sign the petition today by clicking on the following link-- http://www.nrcc.org/actioncenter/default.asp?ID=288!

Folks Please Write Congress: I Support Offshore Drilling

Dear Folks,

Go to www.congress.org today to e-mail your support for offshore drilling in the USA.   Please ask congress to lift the ban on offshore drilling.   I have not only asked for congress to lift the ban for drilling but also to allow oil production and refining.

We must bring the USA into the 21st century.  Please read letter below.

Dear Congress,

I support ending the ban on offshore oil drilling, In fact, the sooner the better. Not only should there be drilling offshore, but anywhere, anytime, anyhow we please in this the best dang country in the world.

Yes even in ANWR should there be drilling right now.!

My Dear Congress, the President finally ended the ban on Offshore Drilling now it is your turn. Have you finally come to your senses, or will you drop the ball yet again?

We have had 35 years to develop and implement alternative energy sources. Our Republican Congress and Administration had 8 years to write an energy policy that would propel the USA and other nations into the 21st Century, bringing forth Global Improvement in energy sources and policy today.

Did any of this come to pass?  Well, No and have we wasted valuable time?  Well Yes. Why did all this happen? Well We Don't Know.   One could speculate why, Could it be Environmental Hysteria?. Could it be Congressional Ineptitude? Are we getting closer to the truth? Did the Environmentals wave some green in your faces and I don't mean a tree. Could be? Do you need to justify your purchasing alternative energy stock by strangling the rest of us. Are you punishing us for crimes against, (pick-one). Here is a real far-fetched reason. Have you aligned yourselves with other forces to bring about the downfall of our own country. It better not be. Are you offended by what I have just said. I hope so, because then maybe you will prove us wrong.

Your failure to permit not only drilling but oil production, refining and manufacturing not only impacts the fuel industry but all industry across the board. I know you are not stupid people but you could fool me. Let me use the language you undersand the most. If you do not act today to allow oil, coal and natural gas, exploring, drilling, mining, production, refining and manufacture of said products fossil fuels and those related. We will do the following:  NOT VOTE YOUR BUTTS BACK INTO OFFICE!!

We will campaign and vote for those who will do our bidding if it means we step out on our political party to do so then so be it.

The Ball Is In Your Court Congress.  What Say You?

Mr. Obama, Don't Mess with The U.S.

Mister Obama,

We will neither speak french, or any other language save for English EVER!  Ne pas parles la francaise.  Jemais, la francaise,  unless it is our idea and only our ideal,  not because you demand it.  We are the Americans here not the illegals or their children.  So there!

We live in The United States of America and therefore, when you live in the United States of America, You speak ENGLISH, Not French, Not Spanish, Not Chinese, Not Russian but ENGLISH.   English is the primary language of the U.S.  English is the NATIONAL LANGUAGE of the U.S.   Not only must you speak English, You must write English and Read English that is a prerequisite to live in this country.  Mr. Obama many of these illegal imigrants are also SO VERY ILLITERATE, they can't read, write, or speak their OWN LANGUAGE so don't you dare demand we speak their languages.

You have bashed U. S.  Americans once too often and when you mess with U.S. you mess with me, when you mess with me you mess with the Bear and when you mess with the Bear you get the Bear's Paws and Claws.

Because you are such a light-weight and so easily offended,  I was going to give you some slack but no sir, not any more.  I have donned the boxing gloves, this is war.  Therefore, everytime you hold a view, expect we will comment on it.  From this point on expect verbal and written battles, mon ami.

Sincerely,

Mrs LMH (alias, Conservabear)

Dear Mr. President, Now Is The Time to Drill

Mrs. LMH

July 8, 2008

The President
The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Ave., NW
Washington, DC 20500

Re: Now Is The Time To Drill!

President Geroge W. Bush:

Dear Mr. President,

Please be the voice of reason for these reasons:

To everything there is a season there is a time to go to Mars, a time to go to China, a time to listen to Al Gore.   Scratch that, never is the time to listen to Al Gore.  Now is the time to drill for oil.

I will give you several reasons why we should be drilling:

First: China and Russia are drilling some 50 or so miles from our shores and China may even be slant drilling which means they stay in their permit allowed area but slant the drilling into our side of the ocean all perfectly legal I'm sure.   If they can drill why can't we, so Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid can be all powerful?  Why are the Dems so afraid?

Second:  ANWR!   There are  2000 acres I believe that had been set aside in the 19 million acres of federal land located in a very desolate, frozen, tundra at best in the winter and mosquito city in the summer.  The polar bears and caribou don't even like this area EXCEPT when there is a pipeline, then the caribou love it because it is warmer near the pipelines, so in actuality we are saving caribou lives.  Plus the bears would love the company.

Mr. President, I know you don't like the computer much, but you need to visit the Arctic Power website it is totally awesome.  Drilling technology has come along way since the 1970's and 80's .   Remember J.R. Ewing and Dallas, What a great show!   Forgive me but I digress.  Anyway the drilling footprint size has substantially decreased just look at what they have done on the North Slope, Arctic Power has made the wells almost undetectable.

Third:  Did you know that there are over 4,000 products made from or containing petroleum, from fuels to plastics to medications and foods.

Fourth: Speaking of the least wealthy, who run their homes with heating oil, what will they do in the winter.  They can't afford to retro-fit their homes for other fuels let alone afford the gas.

Fifth:  Now I am all for alternative energies not necessarily to save the environment but because of cost.

Sixth: Solar panels in addition to the cost would not do well in Camden, NJ or  West Philly for example.  Nor would windmills.  The thought of Windmills some 50 or so feet high with gigantor whirling blades spinning over my head increases my need for a good Therapist.

Seventh: Here's my idea:  Allow the oil companies keep their tax breaks and subsides to use for the development and successful implementation of alternative fuels only and I repeat only If they engage in developing alternative fuels and they must show progress and productivity and they must work with an Oversight Committee that includes folks from all parties in all 50 states.   A little ambitious?  Well so is Congress' plan.

Mr President, I have been a very vocal CONSERVATIVE Republican for a few years.   Yes, I have been a Dem a Lib and, an Ind, so I have experienced confusion before but not now.   I can see clearly what Congress refuses to recognize or is it that they want to punish us for sins against:  (pick a reason).   In any event, don't you agree the American People should be set free from these enviro-facists.  Now is the time for rational thought Sir.  Now is the time for reason and action.

Thank You for Your Kind Attention to This Matter.  Please feel free to contact me if there is anything I can do, like talk to congress for you.  God Bless You and the Family Always.

Sincerely,                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          Mrs.   LMH

Nancy, Harry: Don't You Dare Punish Us!!

Dear Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Most Democrat and a few Independent and  Republican Senators and Representatives:

We have, written, signed petitions, blogged, phoned, protested everything but go on a hunger strike, and bleed a vein, and  to this very day, you fail to understand how vitally important it is that we continue to explore and drill for oil in the U.S.

Remember when you cause a problem by raising prices or limiting growth in one area you compound the problem in all other areas as well.  It is called the trickle side-ways effect.  In this case there may be no trickling at all.

Much is at stake here not just the whims of the Environmental Lobbyists, who won't be affected when we can't afford to heat our homes, or feed or families in the winter.  Will they help us when we are freezing?  Will they drive our sick children to the doctors.  Will they supply the fuel for the Emergency Life Flights to the hospital?  Will they invent the new ingredient (replacing petroleum) needed to manufacture pharmaceuticals like topical creams;  medical supplies?  Distillates are used to make kerosene and diesel fuel and other products we take for granted and are a necessity.  Are you willing to pay our heating bills from you own pocket?

Until we perfect or fully develop multiple energy sources our reliance on oil and coal, natural gas and their distillates and by-products must continue.  Exploration, drilling and mining must continue in a economically and environmentally responsible manner.  Nuclear power plants must be sustained, continued and new plants must be built.  Windmills, Solar Power, Fuel Cells, bugs that excrete, oil plants that grow oil beans. even ethanol some of these are still new technologies that have limitations and strengths depending on their location.

The problem with biological renewables is that you need much more space and product and appropriate climate conditions like NO DROUGHT, FLOODS in IOWA etc.  Also when you use plants normally used as food you run the risk of starving the very people and animals whose lives depend on NOURISHMENT, which is on-going even as we speak and not just in this country but by other nations in need of our help.

Energy Facilities and Sources are only as safe and as efficient as the folks that run them.   I ask you again to allow our US oil companies to explore and drill petroleum without hindrance or penalization.  Remove the moratorium.

Remember we always need a Fail-Safe in the event one of these technologies fails and trust me they will and they always do and that is why the back-up resources are needed.

So please folks have a heart, think of those less fortunate then you who can't afford alternative energy sources, hybrid cars, windmills and solar panels and think of us who still use oil furnaces, natural gas, diesel, kerosene, etc.

STOP PUNISHING US!

Sincerely,

Mrs. LMH

YO Congress, What's the Deal with The Oil Already!

Dear Congress,

I am a moderate conservative republican and I cannot logically support the cap and trade bill. It severely limits our economy and our autonomy as a nation and places all power into the hands of the environmental lobbyists and foreign investors. Without careful thought and a logical plan, it places our economy at further risk by throwing us headfirst into an ethanol- Al Gore-controlled abyss.

The gas situation is out of hand. People cannot afford gas to fuel their vehicles, they have children, families, they are responsible to buy food, take them to the doctors, school, to work. Not only do they ask the question, gas, food, doctor which to I give-up this week but how long will this problem continue.

Winter's a comin' folks.  Please realize there are still many people who use oil to heat their homes in the winter, many of which have not the finances to switch to gas, solar, windmill, let alone other energy sources that are still under the development.  This winter will be very foreboding towards those families and the elderly who have NO RESOURCES.

Petroleum products are currently used in the medical and pharmaceutical industries and other industries as well. Please Congress reconsider this bill. Vote for a bill that supports natural resource exploration and advanced drilling and mining technologies.

I am certain that instead of fighting the US Oil-Industries that we work together to hear their ideas and plans. They have the experience, does Congress, can Congress even change a light bulb?    Better yet let the people vote.  Put a referendum on the ballot and let us decide!

I would advise careful, thoughtful, slower implementation of these new energy plans. Think about it; we already receive unjustified criticisms for not providing enough food to developing nations can you imagine now that we are shifting our energies to produce grains for ethanol how much more justified whining we will endure. Do you have an idea how much grain you need to make ethanol and the safety of inhaling prolonged highly condensed, ethanol fumes? I heard one natural resources person who must be in some form of extreme denial, state that absolutely there will be no drilling in the USA. I did so want to shake her to wake her up and tell her: Look Lady, CENTRALIA, PA is still smoldering and releasing all kinds of noxious coal gases into the air since 1962 or so. that is over 40 years of pollutants. Hey Lady, are you aware of that.   So please if I do not run, rush or sprint (let alone limp) to the Al Gore global hysteria-message.  I just do not buy it. There is so much more information that points to climate change as a matter of natural causes like the SUN.

Other oil concerns we have. China and Russia are engaging in slant drilling some 50 or so miles from our coast for Cuba no-less and WE ARE NOT ALLOWED. You must be aware there are safe and low-ecology-impacting ways of drilling for oil. Just look at the technologies, Arctic Power of Alaska has developed and used on the North Slope. The oil-drilling footprint has become much smaller.

In short, I believe we are being misled.  I consider myself an environmentalist. God did give us this planet and He told us to "Subdue and Dominate the Earth". We are to "Good Stewards of the Earth and not destroy it. However, He did not desire us to be doormats to other nations, especially hostile ones; uninformed American Bureaucrats, and frightened Citizens who do not know any better then to believe the Global Warming Hysteria or wish to ruin our country by way of destroying our economy.

We refuse to be uni-partisan, bi-partisan, tri-partisan or enviro-marxist-faciast-partisan, PAWNS anymore! That is it!  Enough is enough!  We are mad as HADES and we will not take it anymore!  We will write, phone, protest, sign petitions, until we disappear.  So GET with the program if you value your RE-ELECTION!

Sorry Folks, If the tone of my letter seems a lttle rough.  I mean no-disrespect. Moreover, I am sorry but many of us feel this way.

Sincerely,

Help and Prayer for The Tornado and Fire Victims.

I want to take a some time today to reflect and pray for those folks affected by tornadoes and wildfires throughout the U.S. especially those living in the Midwest and California.   These poor folks have lost much they valued: homes, cars, cherished memories anything that gave their lives meaning and security.  Those that escaped the calamity by the grace of God are left to sort out their lives, hoping and praying that they can rebuild their homes and lives again.    These tornadoes and wildfires may be the second or third go-around for these people, losing everything yet again.

Yesterday at a Boy Scout Camp in Iowa a tornado destroyed the lives of 4 young teenage men and injured 40 or so more.  The men and boys who were able did all they could to tend the injured and grieve the dead.  The painful images of their friends and comrades will remain in the minds of these boys for life.
Only prayer, time and support will help alleviate the pain that may never totally abate.

What happens to these people? who helps them recover their lives? Do they every totally recover or do they live in a constant sate of fear for the next time a calamity destroys their lives?.

For now,  We can only pray and do what we are able to assist these folks.
Here are some websites where we can help: Please tell me of any errors in websites.

You also can google sites yourself by entering California Wildfire Relief, Iowa Tornado Relief, Disaster Relief etc.
