Phillies Move on to The NLCS First Game Against LA Dodgers Tonight In Philly

Congrats Philadelphia Phillies on winning the NLDS

The Phillies handed the Milwaukee Brewers a mug of flat beer on Sunday, October 5, 2008 as they blew away the Brewers 6-2 in game 4 of the NLDS.

Pat Burrell's long silent bat finally came to life with 2 home runs and 4 rbi's and rallied the team for the win.  Jason Werth hit a home run in the the 3rd inning.  Phillies Pitcher, Joe Blanton got the win.

Cole Hamel, LHP to battle RHP Derek Lowe tonight.

My best hopes for a win tonight guys.  You can do it!!

Phillies National League East Champs

I want to say with all my heart, thank-you Phillies.

The Philadelphia Phillies, my favorite baseball team, never do anything easy.  I think Jimmy Rollins said that and you know, he is right.  Tonight, the Phillies clinched the National League East Title, and at the same time proved they can give you anxiety, keep you riveted to the TV and still win the game.  They are truly amazing.  The Phillies always keep you guessing from game to game.  You just never know, will they win, will they lose.  Sometimes the anxiety goes from inning to inning, but just when you think they are down and out all of the sudden bats start swingin' and baseballs start flyin' and you are pleasantly surprised and most grateful.  Even when you guys lose I still love ya's.

This game, however was something special from the start, everybody was functioning well, everyone was on their game.  They took the opportunities to advance runners with sacrifice fly-balls, singles, doubles and a home-run.  You guys did it all.  The Mets said it best, the Phillies are most dangerous when backed against the wall and this season was no exception.  There were times when I could see that wall rising in the distance and it was indeed close.

I want to thank tonights participants in the 9 inning cliffhanger starting with Ryan Howard,(aka Big Brown), Chase Utley, Shane Victorino("The Flyin' Hawaiian"), Jimmy Rollins(J-Roll), Pat Burrell(Pat the Bat), Pedro Feliz, (after tonights game he shall be known as "Happy Pete" or "Pete Happy"), Jason Werth(definitely Worth-It), Carlos Ruiz, to our pitchers-starter WP - Jamie Moyer("The Oldest Pitcher in Baseball at 45 Years Old") and closer- SV- Brad Lidge(Lights-Out Lidge).   Let us not forget Charlie Manuel, Phillies Manager and The Coaches.

Every player on this Phillies' team has that potential to add that extra-zing to the game.  We have witnessed some amazing wins.  When the Phillies are playing well they are unstopable.

Tonight, I especially want to thank our pitchers for a job well done. Jamie Moyers you rock, you prove in every game you play, that it doesn't matter what your age, you can aspire and achieve excellence.  Even after a rocky inning you have the grace to keep going and you don't whine about it.  I am very pleased though, you won this game.  Brad Lidge, you are the man, 41 saves out of 41 closings you are incredible and the fact you still wanted to close even if it wasn't a close situation, speaks volumes.

Listen you guys, my parting comment tonight is this.  Keep going, nurture that extra-zing you need to win the playoffs.  Stay peaceful and keep things in perspective and absolutely No Whining.  I will be praying for your safety and your success.  God Bless You.
